Dear
Donna:
I
saw your article reprinted
in the September AACN News
"Electrocardiography
Wires: A Potential Source
of Infection" in which
you quote me as saying that
my telemetry and ICU areas
had a zero nosocomial infection
rate in the first four months.
I wanted to give you an
update on the infection
rates in these areas, where
we have been using your
LifeSync® System since
our opening in September
of 2005. To date, and this
is for over a year now,
we still have experienced
zero infection rates in
these two areas. Since this
is an extremely rare occurrence
in the health care industry,
and the disposable ECG leads
we use in these areas are
mainly what have set us
apart from others in what
we do here at St. Francis.
I have to attribute a very
large part of our success
to your LifeSync® System.
I look forward to our continued
success in this partnership

Dear
Ms. Brown:
I
wanted to give you an update
on how your product is performing
for us, here in Bon Secours
St. Francis Medical Center.
As you know, when I first
came to St. Francis, the
LifeSync® System had
been in use in St. Francis'
ICU and Telemetry areas
since the medical center
opened in September of 2005.
At that time, I was very
impressed with the fact
that these two areas were
experiencing zero hospital
acquired infection rates.
My
subsequent decision to adopt
the system throughout our
surgical services areas
has proved to be a judicious
one in that we have, in
the first four months of
use of the LifeSync®
System, decreased our surgical
services infection rates
by 40%. I would also add
that, as of this date, there
have been no central line
infections or ventilator
pneumonia recorded since
inception of your system,
plus we have not had a single
SSI This month. As the LifeSync®
System is the only practice
that was changed during
or just before that time
period, I can only attribute
the infection control benefits
we have seen to your system.
I
want to commend the LifeSync
Corporation for developing
a fine product that I believe
will, due to the outstanding
clinical benefits, become
a standard of care.
Sincerely, Todd Barnett RN, MBA
